Big News

Part of the ROCS team met with some representatives of RPI yesterday, and things are looking very good so far. More techincal details will follow soon, but it looks like ROCS will be implemented as an application in the new web portal RPI plans to introduce in the fall.

If all goes to plan, ROCS will completely redefine how RPI students (and quite possibly those around the country) handle course registration for the Spring '10 semester and beyond. Stay tuned for some more updates as we begin to develop the ROCS architecture in the coming week or two.

Welcome to the developers blog for ROCS - the Rensselaer Open Course Scheduler!

Rensselaer Open Course Scheduler (ROCS) is a fork of Keith Lea's University Scheduler, which is the basis for RPI Scheduler. It provides a tool for students to search for course schedules based on a variety of criteria.

ROCS is being developed by the RPI chapter of Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the national honour society for the computing and information discipline. It is being funded through the Rensselaer Center for Open Source thanks to a donation from Sean O'Sullivan '85.
